Gov. Patrick Joins Environment Massachusetts to Celebrate Progress on Clean Energy and Climate Solutions

Boston, MA – Governor Deval Patrick and Secretary of Energy and Environmental Affairs Richard Sullivan were joined today at the Hatch Shell by Ben Wright from Environment Massachusetts and more than 200 activists to celebrate Earth Day by highlighting environmental progress that has been made and to look forward to the opportunities to do even more.

Legislature Poised to Take Big Step on Solar Electricity

This week, the Telecommunications, Utilities and Energy Committee in the Massachusetts state legislature advanced a critical clean energy bill SB1664, An Act Relative to Net-Metering. The bill would increase the availability of the net-metering program and is a critical piece of expanding clean energy production across the state.

Cambridge City Council promotes solar power in MA

Fourteen Massachusetts communities have all endorsed a bill that would expand the use of solar energy in the Commonwealth.  Cambridge is the most recent community to sign on this week, joining  Greenfield, North Adams, Otis, Williamstown, Egremont, Cummington, Ashfield, Charlemont, Conway, Heath, Monterey, Great Barrington, and Salem.  These fourteen communities have all signed onto a coalition letter in support of the bill.

Masachusetts towns show their support for solar power

Massachusetts Ranks 10th in U.S. for Solar Jobs

Environment Massachusetts today released new data showing that Massachusetts has the 10th most solar-related jobs in the country with approximately three times as many solar jobs now as there were at this time last year.
