HOLYOKE, Mass - In Holyoke on Thursday Environment Massachusetts released a new report called In the Path of the Storm: Global Warming, Extreme Weather, and the Impacts of Weather Related Disasters in the United States. The report details the increased weather related incidents around the state of Massachusetts and the increased frequency in the United States. The report is released just a year after Western Massachusetts was hit by tornadoes, major flooding and record snowstorms.
“Global warming is projected to bring more frequent and heavier downpours and snowfalls, heat waves and unusually hot seasons will become more common or likely too and hurricanes are also expected to be more intense and bring greater amounts of rainfall,” said Mackenzie Clark Field Associate for Environment Massachusetts.
